For the start of the Art 200 - "Professional Practise II" i came prepared of a determined mindset to push my boundaries in exploring subject matters and styles of Art i am not comfortable in producing. I achieved this mindset due to the position of freedom i was allowed to create my own project. I found that after my first year of University i had found my feet and started to settle into my surroundings. The Second year does not hold an end of year exhibition this is the perfect time to really invest into my new developments without time restrictions on meeting exhibition and dissertation deadlines.
What interests drive my project?
For my project i am really interested in exploring nudity within the Art world. I want to be able to create pieces of nude work, without needing to categorising into the following subsections; Feminism, Self imagery, Empowerment etc. I want my work to be able to represent itself for what it is, which is just being Nude.
What materials do you think might best serve your investigations?
For this project i want to continue the use of developing my skills using acrylic paint. i chose to continue with the use of Acrylic, as it is a medium which i thoroughly enjoy working with. To me acrylic can work wonders in several ways; and is one of the easier form to capture such expressionism.
How will i measure my success?
*I will first measure the success of my project if i can finish the full semester on the same project, without feeling the need to fall back to my safety net of portraits. To me this will show me the success of pushing through unknown territories
*I also want to measure the success of my project by the level of interest i have at the start of the project remains the same of has increased towards the end of the project. If Art is going to be successful then one needs to be interested behind the scenes of their project, i believe this will help excel the creativeness and ideas.
