"Large", "Erotic""Colourful Lines" are all visually apparent when spectating Stevi's work, bold enough to gain attraction and colourful enough to please the aesthetic vibe. Key qualities to help ease and please the public viewers with minimal art experience. Throughout this exhibition, posts on social media from fellow peers (No art experience) constantly chose to capture Stevi's work when visiting the exhibition. A very strong tactic that should be considered to be used towards my work, in order to help build a relationship between artist and viewer.
This was Sofia Stevi's first solo exhibition in a public institution of this scale, when reading upon this i was certainly impressed as i believed Stevi had been exhibiting for years and i could see no clear difference between her display and other Artist who have been in this institution for years. This is one of the main key qualities i hope i can display, if i ever was given such an opportunity. I know that by taking part in curation at the Priestman Gallery will undeniably help me practise such skill. I enjoyed the my time viewing her work trying to make reality with her creations, but as i viewed each new piece, it would question any existing idea's. This idea correlate's back to the origins of how i want my work to be viewed. I also want spectators to take time when observing my work and to try piece my work together instead of settling for the first image that is presented in front of you. I want my viewers to look past the obvious obscenity of the nudity within my work and question figure for what they are doing.
