This Week I decided to visit the Baltic Gallery. My intentions for this trip was to hopefully discover a new artist who can help fuel inspiration towards my project.

This time around the Baltic exhibited several variations of Art forms, on the lower floor we were greeted by large scale Painting's and Sculptures what seem to appear as hallucination dreams by the Artist Sofia Stevi. This exhibition by Stevi was one of the better and fascinating exhibition that was displayed at the Baltic that day. So in regards to this i have created a separate research post to respond to Stevi's Work.

The Second Floor work we are greeted by enchanting harmonic sounds of "The Stars from Northumberland" and surrounded by sculpture ceramic dish-shaped portals that act as sound resonators. The first thing that came to me when entering the exhibition was the overwhelming use of sound as i wondered around the exhibition I noticed the sounds would differentiate for each individual space, with this sudden realisation it gave me a chance to step back and admire the effort and consideration that was put in place to set up such a enchanting display. "Missing Time" curation certainly left a good impression with me and will most certainly help me explore new formats when displaying my own work.

Lastly we bestowed onto the Work of Jasmina Cibic, her work enabled us to take part in a journey and allow the viewer to gain a better understanding of their surroundings within this exhibition. Cibic's "The Machine Builds Nations" Exhibition to me was a maze of activity and i was unsure if there was meant to be an particular order in which to spectate her work. I was also unsure behind the meaning and was left confused on the terms in what Cibic was trying to present. Cibic exhibition was personally no help to me and i struggled to gather any influences that i could take back to my studio practise, however it was a nice opportunity to see an exhibition to be made in accordance to the building (Site specific).
