Artist Research - Fernand Leger

Fernand Leger work convinced me to introduce colour to my Figurative drawings. Throughout my project I have been sceptical about using colour within my work, as I was always lead to believe this would distract the viewer from the figure. When discovering "Two Women Holding Flowers- 1954" I was automatically convinced to explore the use of colour in my work. Just like Leger I want to use simple block colours as this won’t distract away from the figure. I believe i can use the block colours as a highlighter and place the colour over specific body parts to draw attention to that area.
